« The eight abducted public secondary school students (…) escaped from the hideout of the terrorists » which is located in a « dense forest », said in a press release, the commissioner for Homeland Security of the State of Kaduna, Samuel Aruwan, stating that they walked for several days before being rescued.

Also according to this official, these students were examined by doctors before being reunited with their families.

The army carried out searches in the forest concerned in the hope of finding the kidnappers.

Kaduna State is the scene of several kidnappings for ransom operated by armed groups. The phenomenon has also increased in the last two years.
