The Burkinabè army announced on Thursday the neutralization of 112 terrorists, obtained in anti-terrorist operations carried out in recent days in several regions of the national territory.
Land and air troops would have destroyed many terrorist positions, thus allowing the elimination of a very large number of jihadists.
Equipment belonging to the enemies was also either destroyed or recovered during these operations, according to military officials who congratulate themselves on having inflicted on the terrorists “very heavy losses both human and material”.
In the ranks of the army, 11 soldiers perished in the same operations, while four others were wounded.
Burkina Faso is experiencing an upsurge in terrorist attacks, despite the change of regime at the head of the country five months ago. This country has been plagued by insecurity since 2015, with the death of many people, both soldiers and civilians.
