As part of its project to establish a regular maritime transport line from Guinea to five countries in the West African sub-region, the Société navale guinéenne (SNG) launched a call for tenders in view of the recruitment of an international firm which will be responsible for carrying out feasibility studies for the sub-regional cabotage project.
In its press release, the company explains that the objective of the project is to improve the mobility of goods and people between neighboring sub-regional countries. Besides Guinea, the coastal countries concerned are Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Côte d’Ivoire.
The consulting firm that will be selected will have, among others, the missions of making an inventory of current traffic and proposing the operation of a regular cabotage line that is more efficient and less expensive; present activities to be carried out, as well as an estimate of costs and administrative and financial conditions; to analyze all existing competing modes of transport in order to propose solutions to adapt it to the competitive environment.
Applications must be submitted by April 30, 2021 at the latest. SNG, a state-owned maritime carrier, provides a wide range of services related to the transport of goods by sea. It provides all logistics services within port terminals in Guinea.
