The Turkish Defense Ministry announced, this Monday in a statement, the resumption of exports of Ukrainian cereals, in the rest of the agreement signed on July 22 in Istanbul between Russia and Ukraine under the auspices of the UN.

According to the clarification provided by this press release, the first loading of Ukrainian cereals left the port of Odessa at 06:17 am on Monday, aboard the Raza ship and bound for Lebanon.

The boat is expected on August 2 in Istanbul where inspections will be carried out, before continuing its way. As part of the recent Russian-Ukrainian agreement, a joint coordination center (CCC) was inaugurated in Istanbul with the mission of controlling exports of Ukrainian cereals via the Black Sea.

Some hope that this resumption of exports will stop the outbreak of cereal courses on the world markets, following the suspension of exports of Moscow and kyiv, which suspension is due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia since on February 24.

According to the press release from the Turkish Defense Ministry, other cereal deliveries, blocked in the Ukrainian ports, should follow.

On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the Chornomorsk port in the Odessa (South) region where a cargo of cereals was prepared for export. He was accompanied by representatives of the European Union and the UN, the Ambassadors of Germany, Canada, the United States, Great Britain and Italy accredited in Ukraine.
