The airport of Dakhla, a city located in southern Morocco, welcomed 101,360 passengers in the first six months of the current year; which represents a recovery rate of 83% for passengers compared to the same period of 2019 (122,412 passengers), according to data just released by the Office National des Aéroports (ONDA) in its latest commercial air traffic report .
Regarding aircraft movements, ONDA affirms that the number of flights at this airport platform stood at 908 between January and June 2022, i.e. a recovery rate of 74% compared to the same period of 2019 ( 1,224 flights).
Dakhla, also called the pearl of southern Morocco, has become, over the years, a very dynamic city economically and touristically, among others. It attracts major international events.
Moreover, Morocco aims to make this city an important economic hub and a destination of choice for investment in Africa.
It should be noted that the United States’ recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara and American investments in the southern provinces, particularly in the city of Dakhla, are major assets which do not fail to play in favor of development and attractiveness of the city.
