Morocco is hosting 150 young Togolese this year, including 130 students and 20 in vocational training, informs an article published Wednesday on the official website of the Republic of Togo, specifying that the departure of those concerned to Casablanca began on Wednesday.

Scholarship students, whose number “is increasing sharply thanks to the support of the kingdom”, will be trained in public universities for a period of 3 to 5 years in different fields (medicine, pharmacy, architecture, mathematics, physics, agriculture, biology , geology).

The Charge d’Affaires of the Moroccan Embassy in Lomé, Hamid Mechino, quoted in the article, stressed that “the increase in the quota this year is a good sign of the evolution of our bilateral cooperation marked by the recent opening in Lomé of an embassy”.

According to this official, “sharing is the bedrock of Morocco’s foreign policy. We share what we know how to do with brotherly countries”.

Morocco has been, for several years, a host country for an increasing number of sub-Saharan students. Having become one of the main international destinations for these students from different African countries, the Kingdom allows them to benefit from training in its public institutions of higher education, thanks to the granting of scholarships.

Several observers now admit that Morocco has established itself as a powerful pole of university attraction in Africa and actively participates in the training of African elites.
