The action of the Force of the UN Mission in the Central African Republic (Minusca) has made it possible to deal with the threats of attacks by armed groups in recent weeks in this Central African country, reports an information note from the Mission published this Wednesday, December 14.
According to the acting spokesperson of the MINUSCA Force, Lieutenant-Colonel Aïssa Yahaya, this Force continues with abnegation and determination the execution of the mandate in securing the Central African territory within the framework of the protection of civilians, in collaboration with the Central African Armed Forces (FACA).
She reported on 1,751 patrols carried out, including 7 carried out jointly with the FACA, while emphasizing that the center-south of the country is the area that has been most affected by recent incidents and the Force has implemented actions to ensure the protection of civilians.
The actions carried out jointly with the Central African army have made it possible to “deal with the threats of armed groups and protect civilians”, maintains Aïssa Yahaya who also reassures that this collaboration will continue through night and day patrols to “assess the situation security and criss-cross the areas, in order to detect any presence of armed elements and ward off any possible hostility against the population”.
