The Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Bamako, in Mali, informed national and international opinion on Monday in a press release of the filing of a complaint against the members of the special fact-finding mission, perpetrators of the report published by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on May 12, 2023.
This report reports alleged abuses committed by the Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) on civilian populations during a mission in Moura, dated June 19, 2023.
The Public Prosecutor of the Judicial Unit specializing in the fight against terrorism and transnational organized crime has been seized of a complaint formulated by the General Directorate of State Litigation against the members of the special mission to establish facts, all co-authors or accomplices of the facts of crimes such as espionage, attack on the morale of the armies of the earth or the air, forgery and use of forgery, as well as the attack on the external security of the state, the statement said. These facts would be punished by the provisions of the Malian Penal Code.
Finally, the text emphasizes that, in accordance with the procedure in force in this area, the prescribed formalities will be observed.
