The Republic of Guinea reaffirmed, this Monday, July 10 in Dakhla, its “firm and constant” support for the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as its support for the autonomy plan initiative presented by Rabat as “the only credible and realistic solution” for the resolution of the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

This is indicated in a joint press release published at the end of the 7th session of the Joint Commission for Morocco-Guinea Cooperation, held in Dakhla.

The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Guineans Living Abroad, Morissanda Kouyate.

The head of Guinean diplomacy also hailed, on this occasion, the efforts of the UN as an exclusive and consensual framework to reach a realistic, practical and lasting solution to the regional dispute over the Sahara.

As a reminder, Guinea had opened a Consulate General in Dakhla in January 2020. On the sidelines of the work of the 7th session of the Mixed Commission, Minister Morissanda Kouyaté chaired the installation ceremony of the Consul General of the Republic of Guinea in Dakhla , Soriba Camara.

The work of this session of the Morocco-Guinea Joint Cooperation Commission was crowned by the signing of eight conventions and cooperation agreements in various fields.
