Many countries have sent their condolences to Turkey following the attack perpetrated on Sunday in the center of Istanbul, which left 6 dead and more than 80 injured.

The bombing took place precisely in the shopping avenue Istiklal, near Taksim Square, which is very popular with Turks and tourists.

The list of leaders who spoke include the current president of the African Union, Macky Sall, also Senegalese head of state, the Nigerian Muhammadu Buhari, the Burundian Evariste Ndayishimiye, or even the Somali Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud. The President of the Sovereignty Council of Sudan, Abdelfattah Al-Burhan, also sent a message to the Turkish Head of State, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

A Syrian woman suspected of planting the explosive has been arrested in Istanbul. She would have admitted the facts, according to a statement from the Turkish police, made on Monday. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that all the perpetrators of the attack will be identified, and that his “country will not bow to terrorism”.

According to Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, 39 of the 81 injured have left hospitals after receiving treatment.

Two Moroccan tourists are among those injured, according to a statement from the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Istanbul, which called on Moroccan nationals present in the Turkish capital to exercise the utmost vigilance and to comply with the instructions of the Turkish authorities. .

Turkey is a strategic partner of Africa, recognized the African Union in January 2008.
