The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) announces, in a press release published on Monday, the approval by its Board of Directors, on November 17, of the Country Strategy Paper for Ethiopia for the period 2023- 2027.
The key objective of the Document, explains the institution, is to help Ethiopia develop inclusive and sustainable growth through agro-industrialization, improving connectivity and competitiveness, and reducing vulnerability to shocks.
The Document focuses on two priority areas, including improving economic and financial governance for increased resilience, better service delivery and private sector growth; as well as developing quality and sustainable infrastructure to support the agro-industrialization of Ethiopia.
The AfDB emphasizes that under the first pillar, the Bank’s operations aim to help Ethiopia build its institutional and human capacity in macroeconomic and financial governance, including in fiscal and monetary policies and debt management. .
As for the second pillar, the institution plans to support the development of quality infrastructure, sustainable and adapted to the climate, in order to improve connectivity and inclusion, to develop agro-industrialization, the diversification of production and the structural transformation of the economy.
This development of high-quality infrastructure will reduce the costs of doing business, facilitate the movement of goods and people, increase productivity and promote the development of value chains and agro-food. industrialization, the statement noted.
