Compagnie Minière de l’Ogooué (Comilog), the Gabonese subsidiary of the French group Eramet, produced 2.1 million tonnes of manganese in the third quarter of 2022, an increase of 6% year-on-year, reports a report by the company published this Thursday, October 27.

In total, Comilog will have produced 5.7 million tonnes at the end of the ninth month of this year. This production was up 17% in the first half.

« We recorded a further increase in our production and our sales in the 3rd quarter thanks to our targeted investments, which create value, and our constant efforts to improve productivity », declared Eramet CEO Christel Bories with satisfaction.

Expert in the extraction, treatment and transformation of high-grade manganese, Comilog, the world’s leading producer of high-grade manganese ore, has been processing ore from the Moanda mine in Gabon for nearly 60 years. This ore is mainly used in the manufacture of steel, ceramics, cells, batteries, electronic circuits, and even in the food industry.
